World Tour—Alaska Edition
Twelve ships. Seven continents. Oh, the places you will go.
Now that you can cross visiting Alaska off your bucket list, it’s time to ask yourself the all-important question: Where in the world do you want to go next?
For the 2019-20 sailing season, Celebrity Cruises is rocking the globe, sending its modern luxury cruise ships to exotic, far-flung ports of call on all seven continents. The fleet will visit more than 300 destinations in over 70 countries including more than 160 exciting overnights, plus over 20 double-overnight stays in nearly 40 cities, making it one of Celebrity’s richest seasons yet.
From Athens to Barcelona to Reykjavik to a visit to the Russian Ballet, Celebrity will have five ships sailing Europe, including the newest, Celebrity Edge, and three new ports: Nauplion, Greece; Rijeka, Croatia, and Santa Margherita, Italy. Celebrity also has the entire continent of Asia covered. Picture the deserts of Dubai and Vietnam jungles, retrace the ancient Spice Route, spend the night in Mumbai, embark on a Multi-Day Adventure to the Taj Mahal. South America makes the list with stops in 11 countries and even the tip of Antarctica. Australia and New Zealand itineraries are back by popular demand, along with Hawaii. And the Caribbean is open for business with iconic island getaways. With Celebrity Cruises, the world is yours to explore.
On May 26, 2019, Celebrity Cruises will introduce one of the most energy-efficient ships of its size to the diverse archipelago of the Galapagos. Designed with the destination in mind, Celebrity Flora is a revolutionary approach to marine exploration. The 100-guest, all-suites ship includes anchorless technology, in-room water filtration stations, a strict waste-management program, outward-facing design, open-air stargazing platform, and expert-led ecological seminars.
Celebrity Flora will join three sister ships already sailing around Darwin’s legendary islands. Celebrity Xperience and Celebrity Xploration, megayacht-style ships that saw multimillion dollar refreshes, joined Celebrity Xpedition in March 2017.
Recognized for its stewardship and conservation efforts, Celebrity also introduced the Xperiential Travel program. After spending two nights exploring Quito, Ecuador, and sailing for seven nights aboard Celebrity Xperience, guests will disembark for a three-night adventure, which includes the following, before a post night back in Quito: accommodations in a seaside hotel in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island; visit to a local farm or greenhouse to gather provisions to be used in an exclusive dinner with a professional chef at a local restaurant; time with a local fisherman in search of a catch of the day for a special dinner with the chef that evening; learning about responsible tourism that fuels and helps preserve the islands; and a private beach to snorkel and swim.
Sailing Beyond Borders: Captains’ Favorites
Captain Kate McCue
Favorite Itineraries: Croatia
“Dubrovnik, Croatia’s Old Town, built in the seventh century, is a must-see. Whether it is from the walls that surround the city itself, or from the Imperial Fort located on the hill above the city…the view of this city is breathtaking. Because the Adriatic Coast is so well-known for its seafood, I would tell any of our guests to try the black risotto filled with the fresh catch of the day.”
Captain Eduardo Montalvo
Favorite Itineraries: The Galapagos Islands
“These truly majestic islands hold some of the most remarkable creatures in the world…. We are the only major cruise company contracted to do this part of the world and we take our pledge to protect the environment very seriously.”
Captain Ilias Stefanatos
Favorite Itineraries: Antarctica
“My absolute favorite itinerary on earth is Antarctica. This place is like nothing else on this planet. Actually, when you visit this place you think that you have been transported to another planet.”
Captain Zisis Taramas
Favorite Itineraries: Greece and the Mediterranean
“The food, culture, and history in the Mediterranean is unparalleled—and really some of the most exciting itineraries we have—taking you anywhere from Italy and the Greek Isles, to France and Spain, or to the Adriatic Coast with its amazing and world-famous coastlines.”
Captain Matthaios Karandreas
Favorite Itineraries: Alaska
“Its untouched nature is second to none, as if time stood still for the sole purpose of making us all realize how grand and amazing Earth is, and to make us reflect upon all the beauty it carries with it. No doubt Alaska reserves the right to be called the Last Frontier!”
