The World at Large

Twelve ships. Seven continents. Oh, the places you’ll go.

The World At Large Seals

For the 2018-19 sailing season, Celebrity Cruises is rocking the globe, sending its fleet of modern luxury cruise ships to exotic, far-flung ports of call on all seven continents. The fleet will visit 282 destinations in 77 countries and new ports of call in Australia, New Zealand, and the Caribbean. There will be eight new itineraries in India—the most in Celebrity’s history—and the Arabian Sea. Celebrity is also stopping in Denmark, Iceland, Japan, Thailand, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.

With new itineraries come more overnight stays, some of which coincide with the most exciting festivals and events on the planet, including the French Open in Paris, Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. Celebrity is also the only cruise line to offer round-trip sailings from the home port of Abu Dhabi, with overnights in Dubai and Muscat.

With Celebrity Cruises, the world is yours to explore. The only question is: where do you want to go next?

Galapagos Spotlight

Celebrity now has three ships cruising to Darwin’s famed Galapagos Islands. The two newest, Celebrity Xperience and Celebrity Xploration, are megayacht-style ships that saw multimillion dollar refreshes in 2016. Their first sailings started in March 2017, and together with Celebrity Xpedition, the three offer six unique itineraries, 15 islands, and more than 30 ports of call.

Galapos Iguana

Celebrity Cruises also introduced the new Xperiential Travel program. After spending two nights exploring Quito, Ecuador, then sailing for seven nights aboard Celebrity Xperience, guests will disembark and begin a three-night adventure, which includes the following, before a post night back in Quito: accommodations in a seaside hotel in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island; a visit to a local farm or greenhouse to gather provisions that will later be used to prepare an exclusive dinner with a professional chef at a local restaurant; time with a local fisherman in search of a catch of the day for a special dinner with the chef that evening; learning about responsible tourism that fuels and helps preserve the islands; and a private beach to snorkel and swim.

Caribbean Calling, Year-Round

Sailing out of her home port in Miami, Celebrity Equinox now offers Caribbean itineraries throughout the entire year with stops at some of the most popular and spectacular ports in the region, including San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Punta Cana, Key West, Cozumel, and Costa Maya.

“The response we have received so far to our year-round Caribbean sailings has been overwhelming,” said Lutoff-Perlo. “[W]e are excited to offer our guests endless summers in such a beautiful place.” She went on to explain, “…our new year-long sailings are perfect for discerning families and couples who want a summer getaway to sought-after tropical islands, with the best culinary experiences in the region and enriching activities for children and adults…”

Captains’ Best Places

Captain Kate McCue
Favorite Itineraries: Croatia

“Dubrovnik, Croatia’s Old Town, built in the seventh century, is a must-see. Whether it is from the walls that surround the city itself, or from the Imperial Fort located on the hill above the city…the view of this city is breathtaking. Because the Adriatic Coast is so well-known for its seafood, I would tell any of our guests to try the black risotto filled with the fresh catch of the day.”

Captain Eduardo Montalvo
Favorite Itineraries: The Galapagos Islands

“These truly majestic islands hold some of the most remarkable creatures in the world…. We are the only major cruise company contracted to do this part of the world and we take our pledge to protect the environment very seriously.”

Captain Ilias Stefanatos
Favorite Itineraries: Antarctica

“My absolute favorite itinerary on earth is Antarctica. This place is like nothing else on this planet. Actually, when you visit this place you think that you have been transported to another planet.”

Captain Zisis Taramas
Favorite Itineraries: Greece and the Mediterranean

“The food, culture, and history in the Mediterranean is unparalleled—and really some of the most exciting itineraries we have—taking you anywhere from Italy and the Greek Isles, to France and Spain, or to the Adriatic Coast with its amazing and world-famous coast lines.”

Captain Matthaios Karandreas
Favorite Itineraries: Alaska

“Its untouched nature is second to none, as if time stood still for the sole purpose of making us all realize how grand and amazing Earth is, and to make us reflect upon all the beauty it carries with it. No doubt Alaska reserves the right to be called the Last Frontier!”
