Getting Ashore

Cruise ships dock at PortMiami, which has undergone extensive renovations as of late to accommodate the largest cruise ships in the world. PortMiami is surrounded by the glass skyscrapers and bright lights of downtown and the aqua waters of Biscayne Bay. The legendary South Beach is about five miles away.

Port Shopping

Head to Bayside Marketplace, a downtown waterfront venue a few miles west of the port, for tourist shops and eats.


Museum Park

The 30-acre downtown gem is a mile and a half from the port and home to Bayside Marketplace, the stunning waterfront art museum PAMM, the Frost Museum of Science, American Airlines Arena—home of the Miami Heat—Bayfront Park, an amphitheater, and a promenade that snakes the shoreline.


South Beach

One of the world’s most iconic beachfront avenues, Miami’s famed strip has a little bit of everything. Starting at 5th Street and Ocean Drive, this is 20 blocks of fun in the sun with restaurants, bars, clubs, souvenir stores, sand, surf, scantily clad sunbathers, and so much more. Further south at the tip of the island, South Pointe Pier offers a slight break from the highly energized crowds with a jetty, fishing dock, waterfront walk, and park.



Fifty city blocks painted in more than 200 vivid street murals—move over, South Beach, there’s another tourist destination putting Miami in the spotlight. Wynwood is an urban district whose renaissance came about because of its street art, and has been called one of America’s hippest neighborhoods. Take a mural tour by bike and refresh at one of 30+ eateries or a favorite local brewery.
